smokin5s
I have a '99 S10 4cyl 2wd 5 speed we just did an engine swap in it.... I was able to get it started when we left my buddy's house, but we pulled into the store and then came back out and it won't crank over... I tried bump starting it, but it will just sputter a little and die... the security light just flashes.... any ideas? my AAA just expired and I really don't have the money to get it renewed right now so if I could get it started to at least get it home, it would be appriciated. nurkvinny
Does it have the GM pass lock system? Our 99 Alero had a flashing security light. We had to let the car sit for 10-15 minutes with the key in the ignition MULTIPLE times. Do you have lights, radio, etc?
smokin5s
lights, radio etc all work... it does have the pass key, I let it sit with the key in the ign for 20 min's in the parking lot... I read that you have to keep the door closed though which I did not.

RUTAN TA1647545492
Is that the original key? Josh most of the time it is either the wrong/bad key or a bad lock cylinder.
