  1. Just felt like sharing. After driving targa corvettes...both C5 and C6 for the past 22 years...I regrettably joined the FRC this morning on the way to work. I failed to latch the roof and when I got on it out on the main road...whoops. It flew way up in the air and came to rest shiny side up thankfully but about 100 yards behind the car. Somehow the steady stream of traffic behind me on rt.13 didn't hit it. Lots of swerving by them and a long walk of shame for me carrying the top. Only minor scrapes to the trim on the corners...almost completely covered up by seals when it is installed. feeling dumb this morning. :dumb:
  2. Follow-up question...I am very busy at the moment...any shop recommendations to have this done. I'm super nervous about letting people work on my vehicles. This will be the first time in probably 10 years I've let someone do anything beyond an oil change or tires. 30 years if you don't count warranty work.
  3. Ever tried Blackhand gorge? It is on the Licking river east of Newark. really nice paddle.
  4. My Baja Shooter had a cracked block and I sold it last summer. I spent more time working on that boat than using it. I'll miss the blub blub of that 502 but I need to spend more time on the water. Picked up a new-to-me Yamaha AR230 HO... We also added sit-on Kayaks and SUPs last summer and spent A LOT of lockdown time on the local lakes, ponds and streams. Blackhand Gorge being our fav Just picked up a RS FEVA sail boat too...been wanting one of those for years. Haven't had it out yet. What is everyone doing on the water this year? Any Buckeye Lake folks on here?
  5. I have the wobble. I replaced belts and tensioners. I've seen worse wobbles on an LS motor but this one is delivering a super annoying chirp. It diminishes to a less annoying peep once the belt warms up. I'm not looking forward to the procedure but it has to be done. Any advice on what damper to get? The ATI seems to be the most common. But I know there are others out there. The car is a 2011 stock C6 with the LS3 and A/C. I'm thinking either stock size or 10% UD. This is my DD... never going to supercharge or anything like that.
  6. I'm gaming almost exclusively on my Quest these days. I use my account...people need to get over that requirement. Like FB doesn't sell 100% of your info already. Meh. I let the kids use it. There is a pin for any purchases and I'd immediately see if they posted something. Honestly...I don't use much on FB anyway. The Quest is a really nice platform. The players I run into online are slightly less annoying. At least none them have fucked my mom...yet.
  7. You weren't in Thornville last week by chance? Saw one of these in my new neighbor's drive. GLWS. love, love the C5Zs
  8. With 2 out of 3 kids out of the house...the pool table isn't getting used enough to justify the space it takes up. It was given to me...so...free to a good home. I'll take some pics tonight and post them. It is Buckeye themed...gray felt with scarlet bumpers. No ball return...they stay in baskets in the pockets. Comes apart entirely. I transported it inside my compact SUV. three piece slate surface. I have a heavy duty hand truck you can use to move the slate. other parts are all super light. It is in my lower level but it is a walkout with double-doors. So...no stairs...no tight spaces. I will help disassemble and have all tools on-hand here. All you may want to bring is a couple blankets to protect the pieces. I have a wall mount cue holder and a bunch of cues, chalk, bridge, etc, etc. Everything you need to play. Not a fancy table. Does the job. And, well, free is free. 20200113_233523 by Dan Harmon, on Flickr 20200113_233506 by Dan Harmon, on Flickr 20200113_233445 by Dan Harmon, on Flickr
  9. Run a jumper cable from the positive terminal on the battery to the post on the starter and try it. It doesn't take much corrosion inside a starter cable for it to not have enough conduction to work.
  10. turned out to be an e16. Thank you TA In Progress. Picked up a cheap etorx set at Home Depot. Brake job complete. Like new.
  11. That is exactly what I'm dealing with. Thank you.
  12. help, I've run out of expletives. What is this thing? I stripped the hell out of the other side but eventually got them off. The passenger side is unmolested. What type of bolt head is this and what do I need to remove it properly. They are like a reverse torx head set into a hemispherical head that prevents anything I have from getting a good purchase on it. Wrong answers: 6 or 12 point socket, 6 or 12 point box, vice grips, pipe wrench (yes, it got that bad). It took all of those plus a torch and PBlaster to successfully do the other side. I had a bad day yesterday. All other fasteners are standard 6-point 14mm. But these damn bracket bolts are designed by satan himself. I can picture it now...god let satan design two things on his beloved mercedes...the lowbeam bulb retainer clips and these fucking caliper bracket bolt heads. <deep sigh>...help?
