Just bought a '96 Z28

Definitely loving the 6MT. There's a few blemishes keeping it from being a great car, maybe some of the experts can help out...

AC/Heat/Vent does not blow air... possibly a blower motor??

Head liner was sagging/eventually ripped down by rednecks.

Paint is beyond oxidation, no rust, but BAD oxidation. I plan on repainting the whole car, obviously, but I would like a short term fix to hide the "white" oxidation from the paint.

Dash is cracked, the left half of the stereo doesn't work, and I may need some new headlights.

Other than that the car is completely mechanically sound.

If any of you guys know of tech articles, websites, or cheap places to get parts, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Congrats on the new car. How many miles are on it if i may ask? There are a lot of people w/ F-body cars that should be able to get you a lot of info!

Try washing the car, let it dry and waxing it. My truck was super oxidized when i bought it and it rubbed out really well. A coat of wax works wonders. Don't run to paint before trying to wax it once!!

Check the fuse that runs your blower motor. If it's shot, replace it. If you try running the fan and it blows another fuse, then the fan has probably seized up or the motor is shot. Happened on my Jeep a couple years ago.

And I feel you on the paint oxidation problem. My Miata has it bad on the front bumper, and it's too the point where I can't even polish it out because it's just taking the little paint that is there off the bumper. But try some rubbing compound on the oxidized parts, then wax it. Repeat until satisfied :p
