87GT
Its misleading watch the video in more detail. It is a different bottle. It can be 2 things... first off glow stick juice. The catalyst in it when you break one is peroxide. From Fark "Here's a theory...there were two bottles. At 0:34, you can see that the bottle is sitting in such a way that the label has the words "Mountain Dew" facing the camera. At 0:36 the camera zooms in tight on the spoon with the baking soda. You can't see the bottle of Dew at all at that point. At 0:39 the camera zooms back out and you see our presenter's hand on the bottle, but now the label is turned. Obviously he had help from someone (G Dubya Bush???) in switching the original bottle with another that had glow stick juice in it, as previously mentioned. That and the fact that the baking soda fell at nearly free-fall speed when it was dumped into the bottle. What would cause that???/??//? It was teh second bottle on the grassy knoll!!!!one." Also... the baking soda could be luminol powder! It is used in crime scenes to detect blood. You use a very small amount (like the video) and mix it with peroxide for it to work. ImUrOBGYN
Saw this the other day. I cannot see how those 3 ingredients will react that way. I call :bs: . However, I'm willing to wast a tiny bit of MD to back this up. Will post again later today if someone else doesn't. One more thing, the consistency would probably coat the already green bottle and with a black light would probably glow nicely.
ZYUL8TR
It doesnt work. It is impossible. You must add some sort of glowing agent. This is what you need to add in order to get it to work: 4 g sodium carbonate 0.2 g luminol 0.5 g ammonium carbonate 0.4 g copper sulfate pentahydrate approx. 1 litre of distilled water. 50 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide approx. 1 litre of distilled water
SpaceGhost
Actually what I heard is that it is a joke, it actually acts like you puting a mentos in diet coke, it goes everywhere. It's a prank to make a mess.
