I just put a new master in and having the same prob. the pedal engages very close to floor. the slave maybe? or do I still ahve air in the system? I posted this on ls1tech but no one seems to want to help. any ideas? Eric
caseyctsv
It sounds like you need to shim the master or get an adjustable master cylinder. Other option is get an automatic (I said that for Anthony's benefit) It could also have some air in the lines - if you are certain the system is bled well it is probably the above. See this link for some good info: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=742741

caseyctsv
Here is another link - http://www.rangeracceleration.com/Clutch_Care.html Unfortunately, my car did not require a shim so I am not familiar with that install but I believe it goes behind the slave cylinder. Did the new clutch ever work properly?
