Leave him unattended, not in his cage and he will mess. Leave him in the cage for over 8 and he'll make a mess. All typical puppy behavior. Our one boxer is "High-Energy" one or I'm sure we would take another. ---- boxers are great. puppies at heart for many, many years. they will tend to settle down just a bit at about 4-5yrs. our old girl at 10 1/2 is still a puppy at heart. she gets wound up at night if she doesn't get her walk in the morning.
