I think of it like this: Unless I've got something stupid fast or really rare or whatever, I don't really want to draw attention to it. I had custom plates with the Formula and unless you were a hardcore Pontiac guy, no one ever understood what they meant. With the Cobra, I've got a set of standard collector plates on it, that mean nothing. Personally, I just don't want the attention unless I'm driving something that really, really warrants it.
