$100 off Rims and Tires

Nope...R1R it's a "street" tire with a 140 treadwear rating supposedly designed as a cheater tire for auto-x classes that require a minimum treadwear rating. I wanted to put these on the 996 as a street tire but they don't make a big enough rear.

Gotcha, I'd been wondering when those were going to come out. The Mx is a damn good tire, rode in a few cars that had tham and I liked them and you likely won't find a cheaper tire with that kind of grip.

I've been looking at the Kumho MX, problem is they seem to be phasing them out and are getting tough to find. It is one of the best bang for the buck tires though. Andy, are you referring to the Toyo R-888?? I don't know of another new one yet but the R888 is a pure track tire but they are supposed to be replacing theri good street tire this year so that must be what your referring to.

Man Falken's wear out too fast for autox in my opinion Ed. The guy w/ the white miata and gold rota's about two years ago went through 2 1/2 sets in a year.....granted he had to drive the car a distance from his house in Delaware to get to the autox.

 

I think i'm gonna run Yokohama AVS ES100's on the 14's and Continental...something on the Z wheels for street use. All the Euro guys should check out continental, we've got a customer with two S4 Quattro's, A6 Quattro, several 944's all with continentals on them. He does some traveling and really likes them on the highway and they seem to last awhile.

I can wheel and deal on most stocking tires, however when something becomes special order for me and i mark it up a bare amount 10%+tax it ends up more than cheating the system paying online with no tax and 50 dollar rebates. Dont hesitate to call me in the future though, they wont beat me on every tire.

I have a set of the Kuhmo MX, very grippy (throw a lot of stones up in your wheel well )

I have 0 problems with them in the rain.

I would definitely recommend them for anyone on a budget.

Miller, have you found any rims yet? The clock's ticking on the sale! I leave for vacation on the 27th, so if nobody comes to me with rims that they want to save money on, I will just buy the tires alone.
