Need some info on 87 trans am

I found an 87 trans am ws6 that I really like and i'm considering buying, but I was wondering what some of the common problems are with them. I know absolutely nothing about pontiacs, so any information you have would be great.

 

A little about the car i'm looking at:

97xxx miles, Automatic 305, Hooker headers, Magnaflow exhaust 3" piping, Fiberglass Ram-Air Hood, Fiberglass wing, Remote Starter/Door lock/unlock.

Just had a tune up w/NGK Iridium plugs, wires, etc.

Matrix Bucket seats (comes with stock too)

All options, including t-bar set.

the main problem is leaky t-tops other than that just general stuff like you have with any old car

Nothing a Macguyver mod wouldnt fix The big question is how much they are charging for it, and how hard it was beat on over the years. For the right price it would be a nice car to play in.

I'm looking at it as a fun summer car. Something I won't keep forever and is ok if it gets scratched or crashes. Something that actually has mods available that are worth the money, unlike my SVX's/928. I don't want to put 6k into a car for 1 1/2 seconds better in the 1/4 mile.

 

I don't know if that will be this car, or if i'll continue looking around.

 

This particular car seems like its in pretty good shape, and has been well taken care of.

That thing looks to be in pretty good shape. The 305 was a dog, but any small block can drop right in.

Looks like a really nice car. I'm assuming that the 305 is TPI. Not the fastest thing, but like copperhead said, a simple engine swap will do wonders
