It is true about hydro seeding. It grows fast and looks good. Splitseeding is a hit and miss a lot of the time.

 

Ken, if you really want to do it right, rent a sod cutter. Cut said sod out. take it up and dispose of it. Throw down about a 1/2 inch of blended topsoil. Go strip by strip and lay down fresh new sod. 2 people can lay a pallet of sod approx 72 pieces give or take in about 11 minutes. Then water and you are done.
