Custom Sprockets

anyone know who makes custom ATV sprockets for a reasonable price?

Sidewinder will make me a custom front, but I have a feeling its going to be a kings ransom for it.

I need a 12 tooth front for a LTR450R Suzuki Quadracer, cant find them anywhere. :(

If I cant find anyone, I'll have to bite it and just order from sidewinder.

yw, yeah, I got some sort of odd ability to do internet searching... btw, I'd buy two, one of each brand or something, or two from that one guy, save on shipping. You never know, might not ever see them again.

Yes, but... the distance between the two sprockets will not stay the same. It won't move much, the stock chain should still work. I'd have to do the math to know for sure how much. It's because the changes in sprocket diameters isn't really the same. In other words, going down two on the front is a bigger change than going up two in the rear, making the rear axle move to the rear. I got an Excel spreadsheet somewhere that I wrote, that calculates that change of distance for me. No it wasn't easy.

thanks!!!, I figured the sprocket sizes would come into play and it wouldn't be exactly the same,

that Sprocket and Chain Optimizer is cool, ive been calcing all that long hand, takes forever, lol...

Final Gear Ratio = Primary Reduction Ratio * Current Gear Ratio [ex 1st gear] * Final Reduction Ratio

Mph = (rpm x tire diameter (in inches)) / (Gear ratio x 336)

Is that a 520 chain? I read somewhere that with a 520 chain you shouldn't go under 15 because of the tight radius, that might be why you can't find one. The same thing probably goes for other size chains as well, after all there has to be a minimum size. You may want to research that. I bought a sprocket specialist front sprocket and it wasn't as thick as my original, I figured well they know what they are doing, and I used it. It lasted about 500 miles and I was pulling a wheelie and my transmission shaft stripped spinning inside the gear. I had to pull the engine and change the transmission shaft then I put on an oem sprocket. Also the first sprocket I bought from them, they had it listed for the bike, was to big and the chain rubbed the case so I couldn't use it. Don't get me wrong I am not knocking sprocket specialist, they will provide whatever size you want and then some, its up to you to know what size you want and if it will work. Good Luck

Honda and Suzuki design bikes using 14 and 13 with 520 chains, my oem front is a 14 on the quad, I dropped my CRF250X to a 12t in the front, and its a 520 also, its working good, its a sunstar sprocket.

thats crazy your transmission shaft stripped, what kind of bike was that.
