McCain/Palin Meetup Story

Hilarious...

---------------

Upon entering Starbucks, I immediately realized that the McCain/Palin folks were having a little meeting. I saw several women in dresses wearing pink buttons proclaiming "Women for McCain/Palin". A few of them brought their husbands who were sporting buttons saying things such as "Sportsman for McCain/Palin" and "NOBama". I sat down at the table next to the group just as they were starting their meeting.

As soon as the last member of their group came in, they prayed. In their prayer they begged that God "deliver the country from the evil socialists" and even prayed that "Obama find God". Well, damn, how offensive I thought to myself.

After their prayer they began to discuss their Get Out The Vote efforts. One of the women proclaimed that her whole Bible study group was going to vote early. One of the men piped up and said he was going to ask people to vote early after church one Sunday. The next person lamented that their whole office was voting for Obama. The McCain/Palin supporters called that person's co-workers "sinners" and said that they "needed Jesus". Damn, I'm offended again.

Next they started talking about policy positions. This was quite amusing. They were all upset that Obama had voted for the bailout. Then, one of them said, "McCain supported it too." Then they talked about how upset they were about McCain's proposal to buy mortgages directly from homeowners. One of the gentlemen proclaimed, "McCain sounds like a socialist. You'd think he were a Democrat". At that point the other gentleman stated that he had thought of voting for Bob Barr. He opened his lap top and pulled up Barr's website for the others to see. They liked what they saw. One woman said that Barr was the "conservative that McCain used to be."

They talked a little more about how Obama would destroy our country with "free health care" and "gay marriages". The feared his daughters would probably play loud rap music in the White House while world leaders were staying. They feared that Muslim would become our official religion. One of them even feared that "the Muslim language would be taught in schools." Priceless.

They went back to the fact that they all believed McCain would lose this election, but they were excited that Palin would probably run in 2012. They talked about the fact that their local "Victory Office" was so disorganized and the morale was low. Apparently one of the lead volunteer organizers walked out of the office yesterday and hasn't come back. They all feared they were wasting good time phonebanking and canvassing. They just couldn't believe this great country would elect "that man". They couldn't believe God would allow it. One woman even thought that God may be punishing the country by giving us Obama.

At that time, I decided to pull out my laptop. You see, I have an Obama sticker on it. Well, one of them noticed and gave the rest of them a look and said SHHHH! One of the men didn't notice and kept talking. He said that "Obama is part of a sleeper cell and he will use our own nuclear weapons against us." One of the women nodded her head in agreement. Finally, the woman who noticed me said in a soft voice, "there's an Obama supporter behind us...BE QUIET". The group suddenly got quiet.

They changed the subject for a while, but on the way out the door one of the men told me "you are a disgrace to white people if you vote for that man." I told him he was a disgrace to people who think by voting for McCain.

Well, that was a long story, and I'm sure nobody will read it. It's good to be an Obama supporter, especially when you see how scared and dejected the other side is.

UPDATE: Yes, unfortunately this story is 100% true.

---------------

Upon entering my political science class, I immediately realized that the Obama/Biden folks were having a little meeting. I saw several women in birkenstocks wearing light-blue buttons proclaiming "Women for Obama/Biden". A few of them brought their life partners who were sporting buttons saying things such as "Another brainwashed democrat for Obama/Biden" and "McCain is old, LoLeRZ". I sat down at the table next to the group just as they were starting their meeting.

As soon as the last member of their group came in, they cursed god. In their cursing they begged that he messiah Obama "deliver the country from the evil fascist republicans" and even prayed that "Obama outlaw 'In god we trust' from money and remove all prayers and pledge of allegiances from schools". Well, damn, how offensive I thought to myself.

After their anti-american babble they began to discuss their Get Out The Vote efforts. One of the women proclaimed that her whole "Vote early!... as long as its for Obama" group was going to vote early. One of the men piped up and said he was going to ask people to vote early all week because he doesn't have a job. The next person lamented that their whole office was voting for McCain. The Obama/Biden supporters called that person's co-workers "fascist warmongers" and said that they "needed to vote for 'change'". Damn, I'm offended again.

Next they started talking about policy positions. This was quite amusing. They were all upset that McCain had voted for the bailout. Then, one of them said, "Obama supported it too." Then they talked about how upset they were about McCain's "that one" comment, claiming it was racist as hell (even though it wasnt, and they were all white). One of the gentlemen proclaimed, "McCain sounds like a socialist. You'd think he were a Democrat". At that point the other gentleman stated that he had thought of voting for McCain, except he'd rather have government run everything for him. He opened his lap top and pulled up Obama's website for the others to see. They liked what they saw. One woman said that Obama kows exactly how to run the country after giving one speech at the last DNC

They talked a little more about how McCain would destroy our country with "inexpensive, privatized health care" and "low taxes". They feared his vice president would help open up alaska to drilling and make us independent of foreign oil without spending trillions on wind generators. They feared that english would become our official language. One of them even feared that "the republicans will only cut taxes for the rich, they won't even end up paying taxes. the middle class will be paying them all." Priceless.

They went back to the fact that they all believed McCain would lose this election, becuse Obama has already won. They talked about the fact that their local "Victory Office" was spending all their time printing flyers, but its ok because its recycled paper. Apparently one of the lead volunteer organizers walked out of the office yesterday and started practicing civil disobedience at the local coal power plant. They all feared they were wasting good "harassing potential voters on high st." time smoking pot and buying starbucks, but that wasn't going to stop them. They just couldn't believe this imperialist country would even try to elect a republican who supports capitalism. They couldn't believe the almighty democrats would allow it. One woman even thought that God may be praising the country by giving us Obama. but then everyone yelled at her for believing in something not scientifically proven.

At that time, I decided to pull out my laptop. You see, I have a "They're all liars" sticker on it. Well, one of them noticed and gave the rest of them a look and said SHHHH! One of the men didn't notice and kept talking. He said that "Obama is part of a upperclass group of people set on giving more money to the lowerclass, but he's definitely not an elitist." One of the women nodded her head in agreement. Finally, the woman who noticed me said in a soft voice, "there's somebody who hasnt voted for Obama behind us...lets ask if he's registered to vote, and then make him vote for obama". The group suddenly got excited.

They changed the subject to how the housing crisis was cause by big corporations like exxonmobil for a while, but on the way out the door one of the men told me "you need to see the light of Obama. He his great, praise him" I told him he was a disgrace to people who think by voting for Obama.

Well, that was a long story, and I'm sure nobody will read it. It's good to be a "for now" McCain supporter, especially when you see how loopy and hypnotized the other side is.

UPDATE: Yes, unfortunately this story is 100% true. well except for the buttons

A letter was sent out to all employees and everyone that is helping with the vote shit. They are expressly forbidden to support one candidate or the other on OSU's campus.

there was a couple obama workers on the sidewalk on high street thursday when we went down to evolved. got me a few free stickers

A couple? The past 3 weeks, there have been probably 30 tables set up around campus, 10 or so devoted to High St alone. Ridiculous.
