ODoyle Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 Im pretty happy with it, I've had plenty of time to mess with it and get into all the settings and programs. Overall I give it a 7.5 out of 10 out of the box. It came with Windows mobile 6 pre installed on the handset which I planned to change later. It does everything with ease from lurking CR to looking at non flash porn.The only thing i dont like about it is thats its kinda hard to hear because the ear piece volume is so low even when its turned all the way up. It does have Wi-Fi and EVDO so interwebs browsing is fast for a mobile device.The touch screen is really responsive and easy to calibrate and very clear and bright. Today I upgraded to 6.1 and its a whole new phone,the internet is faster (EVDO rev) it has Threaded SMS and MMS messaging and email accts are a hell of a lot easier to set up the update process is a major PITA but it only takes 10 minutes once all the files are downloaded and working properly. How to update to Windows mobile 6.1 1.Click on this link right here Click on MR1 upgrade,agree to the terms and DL 2. Make sure you use Active Sync(XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center(Vista) to back up all the info on your phone as it gets deleted in the update process. 3.Sync your phone to your computer if you have not already and disable all sleep/hibernate functions in the PDA and on the PC 4.Unzip the file you just download the RUU_TITAN file 5.Once the install window pops up read and follow the directions on the install window and in 10 minutes enjoy windows mobile 6.1 If you have any further questions refer to the word file that DL'd with the RUU_TITAN file Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RedRocket1647545505 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 I've had the VX6800 since July and I fucking hate it. It's slow. Programs randomly turn on by themselves. It locks up for minutes on end. Volume sucks. Battery life sucks. Intrawebz is ok, but nothing great. Can read forums, but can't post. Granted, I'm still on WM6. I should probably upgrade to 6.1 since you're saying it's much better. I also need to get off my ass and do some upgrades/downloads for it to see if I can make it tolerable. The dialer pad drives me nuts! Buttons are entirely too small. I might mess with it a bit during winter break. Im actually thinking about getting the 6800 myself. The only thing Im worried about is the stupid white spots in the bottom left corner I keep reading about.
