koolrayz
Tore the engine down the cylinder wall scars only feel to be .003 to .005 deep so it will clean up easily. The bearings on the crank are like brand new, I was glad to see that. The cam bearings show quite a bit of wear though??? One of the pistons was scuffed pretty bad on the skirt. One of the pistons had a peice of the blown spark plug from the fuel pump problem that beat the piston and head pretty badly. I would not think twice about putting six of those pistons back in. The the real nutcracker. I pulled the TOP ring off and squared it up in the bore and measured the gap .025 So then I pulled the BOTTOM ring and measured it .030??? So I look at it closer and I can see the word top stamped in the bottom ring!!!!! So I go the next piston and its the same thing. This dumass engine builder put the rings in the wrong groove. No wonder I always had trouble with excess crankcase pressure!!!. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03538.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03537.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03535.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03534.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03533.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03532.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03531.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03530.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03529.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03528.jpg

koolrayz
more picturess of the interior being gutted. I actually have the roll bar out and will be posting it for sale. I have the original engine in the car for the mock up of the new setup. I have about half of the dash out. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03579.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03580.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03581.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03582.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03583.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03584.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03585.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03586.jpg

koolrayz
The captain said there is to much wire in the car. LOL Man was that dash removal a pain in my ass. The dash has to be removed so that the 10 point cage can be installed Originally I was going to make a truck manifold turbo kit. Thats why I gutted the front end and why I had to change pistons. Before I got started I was approach By shearer fabrication in cleveland, This is the company that does the fabrication on the kits for buscher racings Evo's. Ron wants to make a high end tubular manifold F-body turbo kit and needed a donor can. I have the engine that came with the car installed and it is ready to load up and go to shearers shop. After Ron fabricates the kit I will have to tear the car back down to install the rebuilt low compression engine. There is no intake on as I am waiting on an Aarons elbow and switching to a victor jr intake. The fast intake isnt good for big boost. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03684.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03683.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03680.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC03689.jpg

Guest tbutera2112
You don't read too well do you? perhaps im missing something, this was the last thing i heard him say about the car...from the winter needs thread I am switching things around for next year. I took the roll bar out. Taking the nitrous kit out. Going to a milder cam. Hope to be in 12's I will have a ported fast 90, 2 different cams, sway bars, multiple nitrous kits; plate, direct port, nitrous filling equipment, bottles houses, just to name a few. Soon there will be a lot of parts for sale with installation. Everything I posted was true? The 12's should be very much within my grasp. And for the people posting they want 60# injectors I will have a flow matched set for sale in the spring.

I took the roll bar out to replace it with a cage that will cert to 8.50 The new cam will be milder. Turbo's dont like the overlap that was in the cam I was using. The fast 90 as a reputation of failing under boost so I will be selling it. Selling the sway bar so I can install anti roll bar. Wont need the nitrous so I may as well sell some of the kits. The 60# injectors wont be big enough so they are being sold. As far as running 12's that should be easy and hopefully a little more LOL

koolrayz
Paul, I almost bought an incon twin turbo kit 5 years ago so I have always been on the fence about buying a turbo. Brian, I always pulled my timing manualy with the laptop. I always ran two different tunes, One N/A another for the gas.
