FS: Quality Home Office Furniture

Recommended Posts

As a number of CR folks know, I retired from private practice two years ago but continued to maintain a consulting office in Worthington. But I've lost my lease and cannot absorb some of this furniture into my home.

There are no antiques, but this is all quality furniture which cannot be distinguished from new (except where noted) and would make very nice heirloom furniture for a home. If you're interested, PM me and we can arrange for you to take a look at the furniture and decide. The prices are not negotiable unless you are buying multiple items.

Thanks for browsing! :)

Pulaski desk, 250 lbs., 6 feet wide, 30" tall, 30" deep. Hand carved hardwood. Hand tooled leather insert in top, not scratched but has light grooves on top, seen to the left of the glare in the last photo (so slight they are hard to photograph). Front of desk has large inserts of etched brass. Center drawer and two side cabinets face the rear. $950.00

Three matching large solid mahogany armchairs, quality upholstery with springs, 44" tall, 30" wide, 30" deep. Two are like new - $290.00 each. One of the three has a crack which goes through multiple parts of the back. I sit in it, but it really should be repaired if it is to get heavy use. Cracked chair I will sell for $100.00. $625.00 will buy the set, and I can point you to a good furniture repairman.

I am a forensic psychiatrist. I still do a little contract work occasionally and I have kept my faculty appointments, but I closed my practice to the public in March 2007. I kept the office in case I decided to go back to work. But the landlord, an old friend of mine, has an opportunity to make more money by leasing to another tenant, so I'm giving up the space.

It was easier for me to just keep the office unused than it was to move the furniture to storage.

Do the legs on the sofa table detach to move it?

Yep. Sofa table and end table have bolt-on legs. They were purchased from The Great Indoors and are like new. Although they are very sturdy, they are not of the same quality as the other pieces. If I remember correctly, they were around $250 new.

Sorry for the OT, but....what is it with the psychiatric profession and matchstick ships? Seriously, every psychiatrists office I've ever been in or to has one, and yes, I do have a pretty large representative sample, LOL. Is it some kind of inside joke? I've always wondered about it.

Wish I had money right now, I'd be all over that demilune table. Holy incredible tiger-striping......

LOL. I've been in a number colleagues' offices, but I've never seen another matchstick ship. As I think about it, the most common theme I've seen from office to office is one of offbeat, suggestive artwork. And most of their chairs are upholstered and comfy. And lots of big pillows. And Kleenex .... everywhere boxes of Kleenex :)

So I guess the short answer is that I really don't know. How do you feel about that?
