SpaceGhost
Fuck the steelers, and I would want my players to play out doors on a field like where they will play during the game. if you practice inside on Turf and have to play on grass, it's not the same. Good for the kids though, I bet they like it.
LJ
Massillon High School is ahead of us," Bengals owner Mike Brown, the oldest son of Paul Brown, told the Cleveland Plain Dealer when asked about the indoor facility. "We don't have one." Hmmm, and who's fault is this?

Good for the kids though, I bet they like it. It's basically the same anymore. The only difference with the turf they use now is it is bouncier and drier than real grass. TURBOED
DO their opponents have turf or do they play all home games? That shit is unhealthy for 14-18 years olds to be playing on. Not field turf. Nearly everyone is going to that these days, it's better than grass, has old tires ground up underneath. Now old astro-turf, that shit is bad for you. Now old astro-turf, that shit is bad for you. Yep, the new field turf stuff is amazing. No problem with it. I've played on both, footing is better, it's softer than a dry grass field. There really isn't much difference playing on the 2. It's better to know how to play on turf than it is grass, as every round of the playoffs in Ohio from round 2 on, is played on field turf. LJ
holy christ! where is this highschool??? in columbus? Columbus Stadiums don't hold a candle to Southwestern Ohio Stadiums or Northeastern Ohio Stadiums. One of the best on Central Ohio, Desales http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/8248/stfd2pb9.jpg One of the best in Eastern Ohio, Steubenville http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/8123/stadiumzk1zq5.jpg Southwestern Ohio, Elder's "The Pit" http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4893/normalp7070009zm1.jpg http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1655/stadiumao0.jpg http://ohiostadiums.net
SpaceGhost
many older players talk about playing on grass vs now the new astro turf and atribute longevity to playing on grass. Even the tire stuff is not as good as grass. look at the Steelers field, better to have the field come up than to have your foot stick and need an ACL surgery. It just costs so damn much to take care of a Grass field. Not to mention stats go up on artificial turf as to why many are switching to it. I do commend the steelers for keeping it real and staying strong. But fuck them because Marc likes them. I believe the Ex pro players, their experience through the change over weighs more to me. That's still the old stuff. Scientific studies show that it requires LESS force to rotate a cleat 90 degrees in field turf vs real grass You are confusing astro turf with field turf
SpaceGhost
There are other injuries also that are compounded on wet new stuff vs wet mud and grass. the field is just much more rigid. Like I said I believe the players vs the studies that can be biased. The players are not getting anything out of their opinion. Hell a pro RB has a shelf live of 2-4 years now in the NFL. Of course there are a couple of exceptions Like LT and Lewis, but most 2-4 years. Start naming Denver RBs......

LJ
Everything you find will say that there are more minor injuries (numbers are reported as anytime a player receives treatment) on synthetic infill fields vs Grass. And more major inuries (knees, heads, ligaments, etc.) on grass vs synthetic infill. This is usually attributed to the fact that play is faster on a synthetic field, causing bigger collisions and you can still get some turf burn from it.
