87GT
Ok this is pissing me off to no end. I have 2 boxes on my home network. Box 1 is win vista ultimate 64bit box 2 is win xp pro 32bit. Box 1 is unable to connect to box 2 to access shared folders. It keeps telling me I am using the wrong password. I know this is incorrect so i created a new account all together on both boxes to make sure. Well it still says I have the wrong password Box 2 is able to read and write to the shared folders on box 1 with no issues! Both computers are on the same network Box 1 has windows firewall turned off, no security center programs installed, in the network and sharing center I turned on file sharing options, fresh install basically. Box 2 has no firewall or security shit on it. Wat the fuck. I need to watch my videos I have. How can I fix this?
87GT
Is there really no way to fix this? I asked many people on vista and they all said they had the same problem. Has microsoft made another OS that will force me never to use it again?!
Akula
Doesn't windows communication require like NetBios type connections to authenticate? Do you have netbios enabled?
87GT
I doubt netbios is installed on either machine. Last time I installed it was when I played starcraft on a private LAN at school. =( I will try it when I get home but can you think of anything else?
