Rally Pat
For anyone that hasn't been following this for the few years it has been in development, it is a full remake of Half-Life in the Orange Box build of the Source engine. Half-Life: Source was just Half-Life thrown in the source engine, which basically meant the game looked almost exactly the same with the exception of some effects like water. I can't wait for it to get released.
gmann
I heard about this, but have never seen anything on it. Thanks!
kenny
Cool, but I want EP3, not that. Though I will play that anyway, I <3 HL.
Rally Pat
Black Mesa is a project by an independent team, with Valve's blessing. Valve is still working hard on EP3, which I really want also. EP2 was such a cliffhanger.
kenny
There better be Portal gun action in EP3, and not some bullshit for like the last 5min of play.
Rally Pat
Supposedly that is going to be part of the story. Whenever Gordon gets to that ship or whatever.

Brrcats
dang, I still have no idea whats going on in these games, I guess i should finally play through the rest of the orange box
TheHaze
Wait, so it's the same game? I liked the first HL but doubt I'll spend $60 to play it again with better graphics. Physics too. I doubt it will be anywhere near $60. Me thinks it will probably have a bit more to it than just a remake.
Skinner
cool vid moving to the correct area. Pat you should report yourself for this thread.
Rally Pat
I hope not. If it's an 800 credit download on xbox I'd buy it. As far as I have heard, its free because its a Mod, not a game. You'll never see it come to Xbox. Only time will tell, though.
kenny
Playing HL2 on X Box is like fucking a dude in the ass while telling yourself you're not gay.

TheHaze
If it means not buying a thousand dollar computer to play it, call me Sally. I played HL2 on a Celeron-based pc with a 64mb video card and 256mb RAM at a friend's house a couple years back. His pc must be 6 years old and it played it on highest settings. Rally Pat
If it means not buying a thousand dollar computer to play it, call me Sally. Ive never spent anywhere near that much money on a gaming machine at one time. Total eventual value, maybe. There is a science to building reasonably priced gaming computers. And besides, this is the Source 2008 engine. It will run on damn near anything.
