Ziggy1647545504
Sold this on Tuesday, 2001 Suzuki SV650, 2nd owner, 32k miles: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa79/Ron_ofthe_cars/P3150197.jpg And bought this yesterday, 2001 V-Star 650 Classic 3rd owner, 32k miles: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa79/Ron_ofthe_cars/vstar01.jpg I can't wait for warmer weather! I'll get some better pics when it warms up, and I can get it clean, it's kinda dirty right now.

Ziggy1647545504
There are several of them out there on CL right now, one 2001 that has been laid down, with pretty light damage and a clear title you can probably pick up for about 1500 if you take cash. It really is a great bike, and I'm happy that I bought it, as a matter of fact, had my wife decided that she didn't like to ride, I'd have probably kept it. The V-Star should be a little better for 2 up riding though.
Vulcan900
We have a 2000 V-Star 650. Great bike. My only complaint is that it doesn't have floorboards like my Vulcan.
SRTurbo04
good trade but beware man the vstar 650 is a turdddddddd ive got an 07 http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll162/04srturbo/IMG00028.jpg an were currently tryin to trade it in for a 1300 cause of the lack of power an riding double makes it that much slower, just be carefull when pulling out as there is nooo power lol. good reliable bike though! Ziggy1647545504
The floor boards are one of the reasons I was looking for a 2001+. I've ridden another vstar 650, and found that it pretty well suited my riding style. Obviously there will be a bit of a learning curve, going from a sporty standard with 70 hp to a cruiser with 40, but I think that for what I'm going to do with it, it'll be just fine. I was really struck by the colors on this one, light green (almost silver) metallic over darker green metallic two tone. I've never seen this color combo on another vstar. ***Edit: Fixed fuzzy memory for numbers*** Edited January 9, 2009 by Ziggy
Ziggy1647545504
04srturbo: There is a Clean title 2001 1100 at Racer's Edge down here in Cincy that can be had for $3700. It's burgandy over cream two tone, with some aftermarket chrome, and less than 10k miles. I'm sure they'd be interested in working a deal with you. http://home.fuse.net/edge/racersedge/images/2001vstar1100_1b.JPG It needs a good detail, and will probably need a rear tire soon, but it sure is pretty. I'd have bought this one instead of the 650, but I couldn't get them to come down to my price range.
88lx5oh
nice bike! although the 650 is underpowered youll still like it. and eventually youll upgrade to a 1000cc cruiser. cruisers are nice, but not my style of riding, learned that after i bought one lol. nice for 2 up riding, but it just doesnt give you that feel you get from a sportbike. and sorry but your sv made no where near 85hp lol

88lx5oh
haha i just looked up my R6 it says 123 hp.. when dynoed it made 98.9 to the wheel stock, which is pretty much average for my bike. thats crazy how much power loss so an sv 650 must be around 55 rwhp or something lol thats why i said no way on the hp rating im thinking actual wheel hp

Benner
Yeah. I haven't had much experiance riding so I'm gonna start off with less power, only problem is I'm 6'1" and 310 and 600 make me look like a fat kid riding a moped. Any suggestions? would prefer a sport bike.
