timmy43016
I am trying to create an FTP site using my server 03 box. I have installed IIS (obviously) and have setup the FTP site using the wizard. I pointed to the share folder I want to publish. I have disabled the anon logon and set user and pass. I have made an exception with firewall opening port 21. I cannot access the site from the server web browser or any other pc I have. The goal, ultimately, is to access anywhere...but I cant even access at my house.
mmrmnhrm
Are you able to access it internally, that is, by opening ftp://192.168.10.10, or whatever the server address is? If so, then it's likely your ISP is blocking it on their side (especially if you're on cable).
timmy43016
no i cant hit internally either even with firewall down.
unfunnyryan
Did you do all this? http://www.hostmysite.com/support/dedicated/iis/iisftp/ You may have to restart. I've never used IIS for FTP before. Is the service running?

unfunnyryan
Interesting. It really sounds like the service isn't running. Since you didn't really specify if it was or not, try this. Start -> Run -> NET START IIS Have you ever had IIS working with a webserver or anything else before?
timmy43016
i can now hit from the server...permissions are setup with all my pcs and user names added to admins. i can log in as one of my users, but i cant hit the site from the pc the user name resides on. one step closer at least.
