street pilot
Can anyone recommend a user-friendly site for getting into trading? I want to trade relatively small amounts of money infrequently, and not get charged crazy for that little activity. Charges per trade are ok, but I would like to avoid monthly fees and minimum balances if possible.

If you start carrying a balance and meet other requirements (give them more money essentially) the cost per trade goes down. But there's no additional fees. hot_wire
I use ING's Sharebuilder service for long term, maintenance free purchases. $4 per trade, no hidden fees, and usually you can find a coupon for $25 for signing up. Only problem is that trades execute on Tuesdays only. If you need out quick, its $10 or so for a real time trade. Again, I just use it to buy and hold.
