DaddyBuiltRacing
4/22/10: Nothing is sexier then completely shaved!! Got a little break from work so I was finally able to do some work to my car. Got ahold of a grinder finally and it was time to put it and my welder to use. You know all those little random holes that Honda littered the engine bay with? Well they are no longer in my bay. I started getting all the seam sealer out too, but got tired of using a wire wheel. So this weekend I am going to bust out the sand pot and air compressor and just sandblast the engine bay, forget doing things the hard way, make shit simple if you got the resources. Now lets get to some pics: Passenger Side: Before http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0245.jpg After http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/holeswelded.jpg Strut Tower: Before{/b] http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0246.jpg After http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/welded.jpg And just some other random shots: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0249.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0250.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/driverside.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/driverside2.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0247.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0248.jpg
DaddyBuiltRacing
4/23/10: You know those brake booster delete kits companies like ChaseBays sell for $240bucks? Well I found a company that sells them for $135 shipped!!! Kens Kustom Chassis (yes its spelled Kustom) in Pennsylvnia offers these things at a fraction of the cost of other companies. Well anyways I ordered one today!! Check em out at: http://www.kenskustomchassis.com This is what it looks like: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/boosterdelete2.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/boosterdelete.jpg
DaddyBuiltRacing
4/26/10 The booster delete kit that I ordered from Kens Kustom Chassis arrived today. Now I am kinda torn on this after buying it lol. I like the idea of cleaning the engine bay up by eliminating the booster. My only concern really is having only 1 line coming off the Master Cylinder and having to T it off once inside the car so I can have front and rear brakes. My concern with doing this is what if a brake line breaks or starts leaking and I dont catch it before running out of fluid, hit the brakes and they are gone. Some people also complain about the heavy pedal, however I have driven old muscle cars along with my dads v8 powered Jeep that has manual brakes and its really not that bad. Yes it requires a little extra leg muscle to apply the brakes but thats nothing major in my opinion. Anyways A++ goes to Kens Kustom Chassis on fast shipment and great customer service. For those wondering the master cylinder is a 3/4 http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0307.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/101_0308.jpg

Dude is old as fuck and knows his shit. He was the dude who made the first preloaded wheelie bar and owns only 1 of the 2 4g63 dragsters. He built both the frames tho. He was only like a 15 min drive from where im from.

DaddyBuiltRacing
I have my dad helping me which is a nice advantage. I am about to bust out the sandblaster this upcoming weekend and just blast the entire bay. There are places in the engine bay that I can't get a wire wheel into remove the stock seam sealer. I am welding every place that had seam sealer just to sure up the chassis some, plus it looks cleaner. Hoping to have the transmission back this weekend, bay prepped for paint this weekend so I can drop motor in next weekend.

Guest Removed
Damn looks good, i just have a problem spending all that time and effort on something that doesnt make the car go faster / handle better. november-march...i had a welder and grinder and some sheet metal..some times its all about the details. if you can go fast , and look good doing it..why not. i mean, did you spend all that time cleaning and painting your engine, to drop it in a hole that looks worthy to just shit in? just saying
