HID install on the R6

so i went ahead and ordered a HID kit form DDM tuning aka apexcone (BMW guys supposedly rave about them)

didnt take long for the kit to arrive, and was shipped, and packaged well. install was pretty straight forward, and simple as well. just had to find a place for the ballast.

i got a H7 5000k slim ballast kit. these things look great, takes only a few seconds for them to fully heat up, and they are very bright! and look great in the stock projector housings.

here is where i put the ballast at. behind the speedo. stuck great with the supplied double sided tape that came in the kit. my windscreen covers them up so you cant see them after the windscreen is on.

i had to drill a hole in the plastic dust cover for the wires to come through. the harness for the HID lights came with a nice rubber weather proof grommet to fit nicely in the hole you drill. all the other connecters are weather proof as well. the air duct covers, cover what little mess of wires there are up, and makes for a nice clean install.

Anytime the weather breaks unless u got a trailer i can get it up there with...id bring it up today! The job you did on my last one was amazing. The guy who bought it couldnt believe how good of condition the paint was in. I do need some minor paint work done also. do you think you might be able to help me out with a few knicks in the paint?

youll love them man... the 6000k have a little blue to them, but they are still pretty kick ass

I have the 6k and they deffinately have some blue in them... after a few months I don't really notice the blue anymore.

HID's are great!
