ImUrOBGYN
Look just as good/bad as they do on any car, including the vette. Was never a big fan of those rims, at all. However, look who's talking. Course, I don't like mine, either.

2 Sweet
Thats not the first VW I've seen with those rims actually. They looked ugly on Corvettes, what makes people think they'd look any better on a VW?

2 Sweet
Did he stretch 215s over them? A lot of VW guys think its cool for whatever reason. Skinny tires on wide rims is GAYYYYY. Tire stretch FTL

Tire stretch FTL While I wouldn't use quite those words, I certainly don't like the style. It's definitely all show and no go which isn't my thing. Farkas
There are some benefits to tire stretching in a performance standpoint.. but nowhere near as much stretch as some VW guys run. I find it appealing to a point, but it's definitely more of a, "look who can stretch the most" kind of thing. I mean, I'm running a 225/40-18 on my 18x8.5 RS4 wheel.. that's a LITTLE stretch, but I need it to roll out as low as I am. Good luck getting a finger between my tire and fender. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/rps4.jpg

Farkas
I think they look pretty good on the car? I would LOVE for you to tell me a performance benefit from tire stretching... Well, I don't want to go into too much detail because I'd have to explain the culture behind tire stretching(hipari), but without much explanation I'm sure it's not hard to believe that it significantly reduces side-wall flex. Because of this there's a better feel for the car's behavior and in some cases, a car can exhibit better turn-in. Not only that, but I've read in many cases where theoretically, stretching can provide somewhat of a static camber for a solid rear-axle vehicle. I've done my share of experimenting, and I saw the biggest benefits when I had to run a cheaper tire with a larger sidewall. There is a fine point where stretching too much has absolutely no gain, but minimal stretch can be beneficial in some cases. Obviously you're going to want the largest contact patch possible for best grip, but if you're doing mega stretch on a rim just because you want a huge rim to fit a car, there's absolutely no benefit. I'm no expert however, I'm just going by what testing I've seen done by Formula D, D1GP, TRD developers and other experienced drivers, and even my own personal experience with what tracktime I do have under my belt. Aaron
Stretch has been hashed and re-hashed for years. Some love it, some hate it. I def lean towards hating it. TE7two has as much stretch as I can stand. As for trying to argue the benefits of stretch, good luck. There is no upside to running a tire in a way it was NOT designed for. Tires are designed to be used a certain way, and performance will be peak abiding by those specifications. It was started for people in Europe to run wheels that were not meant for a certain vehicle. Since the law states you can not have the contact patch stick out past the fender, stretch was used to get wide wheels to be legal. It is for LOOKS, not performance, end of story. And as shanton said, saw blades are def not "current" in VW land. I do like them in black though.
