I've found speculation that it's a Savage Arms 52B, made between '33 and '37, for distribution through Sear n Roebuck catalogs as a Ranger.... but nothing confirmed. From what I'm reading, Ranger was a brand name used by Sears back in the day, and while it's most likely a Stevens, there are chances that it could be a Mossberg or Savage also.
