This article is a complete fail. The viper is listed as a GM. The Cobra is really a AC Bristol......

umm....viper says dodge in the article...that picture was copyrighted by GM...i think you fail at reading...they certainly werent saying that "John Griffiths/Flickr.com" produced the cobra

Fail, but I thought that an AC Bristol with a V8 in it by Shelby was an AC Cobra

no but thats how it started.in the beginning he used the bristol .. carrol build his own chassis, and refined it to the ac cobra. i

The AC had a different nose than the Cobra.

After it started to take off, it was just the body lines that shared any similarities.

wrong. the mark1 and 2 where ac's modded for shelby. in the late 60's ford was building the bodys for shelby after they could not afford to import more chassis.

take off? the legendary 427 shelby ac cobras failed.

Although extremely successful in racing, The AC Cobra was a financial failure, which led Ford and Carroll Shelby to discontinue importing cars from England in 1967. AC Cars kept producing the coil spring AC Roadster with narrow fenders, a small block Ford 289 and called the car the AC 289, it was built and sold in Europe until late 1969.
