Science Abuse
Go get some fancy clear soap and use it to catch your pellets in a "freeze frame" during penetration. Load the pellets backwards to make it a bit more interesting. Used a standard Crosman pellet. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4315/topqza.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5001/closeb.jpg See if you can get them to hit eachother: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/912/bottomk.jpg Yeah, you've got to be bored. Science Abuse
What have you guys got? The soap has decent stopping ability. The number of pumps I used for some of those are the same I use to in-out varmints at 15yd'ish. Edit: 590fps.... yeah, ok, it's weak. ImUrOBGYN
You don't need a 1000fps pellet rifle to hunt small game. I use a Daisy Powerline 856 .177 caliber pump pellet rifle. I know it's under 1000fps, but I've killed rabbits and squirrels up to 25yards away with a single shot. That's not every once and awhile, but the norm. It's more the shooter than the velocity. It also has a rifled barrel. I am an excellent shot and it's a very accurate and cheap little rifle. I've had this pellet rifle for 8yrs. I just tore it down and cleaned it up in preparation for this season. Here's a decent airgun site I've browsed through before. http://www.airguns.net/
Science Abuse
had this pellet rifle for 8yrs. I've had mine for 14 years.... and I've never really oiled it or anything... i wonder if that effects performance. lol It's rated at 590fps @ 20 pumps, and it's plenty for grabbing snacks. I can only guess thta increase fps in a similar rifle would increase it's accuracy... but not mine. lol
