Bam
Need a new daily/race-car, lol. $4k-ish budget. Needs to be able to fit at least 1 car seat - 4 year old. Must have AC, beyond that I don't care. Sweet, thanks.
kirks5oh
just a little fyi: your post is filled with contradictions-- daily and race car do not go together car seat/4 year old and race car do not go together a/c and race car don't go together race car and $4k rarely go together daily driver, $4k, a/c, and car seat for 4 year old can all go together
Bam
thanks, to clarify exactly why there was a "lol" next to it. Yes, it'd be awesome to find like an e55 amg for $4k, but I know it won't happen, But I was dd a mustang gt, so i would prefer a sporty car. 2 Sweet
If you don't want an f-body or Mustang I'd suggest a Grand Prix GTP. You can find a nice one for 3k and spend the rest on mods (pretty big aftermarket available) and have a 13-sec daily with plenty of room on the inside, easy to drive in winter, etc.
Bam
going to check out a gtp today, but its $4500, where do you find any for $3k, i haven't... thanks for the link jeff, pm'd ya back
kirks5oh
+ a huge 1 for the GTP's. i absolutely loved my old grand prix, and it wasn't even a GTP.
STEVE-O
you cant find one for 3 unless it is older style pre 97 you can get a good one for about 5ish
STEVE-O
if you can fix it here you go I am selling my 1999 GTP. This is a moderatly modified car. It has a lot of mileage but I have always taken good care of the car. Here are the parts: The Good: Intense Stage 1 Cam 42.5 lb Injectors Modular Pulley 3.2" 3.29 Intense race transmission Thrasher intake SLP Headers Borla Exhaust Intense custom tune The last DYNO 348 CHP (289 WHP) Ran 13.19@105 at IDDX1 The Bad: No 5 piston is chipped. The car is driveable but who knows for how long. Some rust on the edge of the right rear fender. knicks on the hood. It has 257,339 miles but that is the body, the trans has aprox 74,000 and the motor has 120,000. The tires are Firehawk and have good tread. I had all the struts and brakes replaced last summer. I will also throw in the set of 4 Konig Tantrum rims with good tires I'm aking $2,500.00 he is on goclubgp if interested
2 Sweet
you cant find one for 3 unless it is older style pre 97 you can get a good one for about 5ish lol whaaaaat? Dude I got mine a couple years ago from the stealership for 3k. It was a '97 with 119k miles but it was clean as hell. You can always find late 90's in good shape in the 3-4k range. First day i had it... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/GTP1.jpg A year later... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/GTP006.jpg And I'm not the only one who found a nice one for cheap. You just gotta look around. I got lucky and found this one 5 minutes from my house

Buck531
Don't get a W-body (GTP/Regal, etc.). I/when you mod it, the trans will drop out costing you roughly $2k to get it repaired.
nurkvinny
+ how ever many on a GTP. Miss mine all the time.

Not exactly trying to, trying to find a car I like, haven't really found that yet, but the mustang didn't fit my needs, no matter how much I wanted it too... Loud, bad gas mileage, cramped back seat room... I drive 90ish miles a day (would like better than 16mpg), have two little girls (need to be able to do 2 car seats every so often, and yeah, o/r hpipe, slp exhaust didn't do it for me....the 4.6 wasn't as fast/quick as I thought it would be.... Bam
honestly, both my girls loved the mustang, my oldest called it daddy's super duper yellow car, and always asked to go fast, lol, but then complained it was loud when I'd get on it or spin the tires, but yeah, she's gonna be into cars I hope.
