It is basically self leveling and will look good as long as you take your time with it. Dont get it on anything you dont want it on cause it aint coming off! Other than that, great stuff. If you try to drill it, ur bit will walk across it. Comes in gloss black, flat black, and silver which has aluminium in it. Never tried POR-15, so i don't know the charcteristics of it. koolrayz Posted June 26, 2009 Report Share Posted June 26, 2009 I just painted my cage and some other shit in my car with it. It's runny, apply two thin coats. It worked OK upside down but it's runny. I used the sponge brush and roller. I used a plastic tub for a roller pan, after it dried I was surprized at how flexable the coating was. It doesn't bubble up like paint does when the rust is underneath, and the first sign of rust is when something goes through the panel. If there is some pitted rust, it will adhere just fine, as long as you hit it good with a wire wheel and get anything loose off. The biggest thing is to make sure that the surface is free of any grease / oil / waxes. We just did the underside of 3 comercial mower decks last winter, we will see how it held up this winter when we hit the decks with the power washer and pull the spindles for rebuild. Using a good cleaner like purple power to clean the surface should get rid of most anything that will keep it from adhering. Also, we wiped with acetone just to be sure there where no residual oils.
