POR-15

Good stuff. Go slow and follow the instructions. Brush it on. It is basically self leveling and will look good as long as you take your time with it. Dont get it on anything you dont want it on cause it aint coming off! Other than that, great stuff.

Nice! http://www.kbs-coatings.com/KBS-All-In-One-Chassis-Kit_p_8-36.html

Nice looking kit with a good price too. If it really is comparable to POR-15 then I will definitely go this route.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Like Rob said, I am curious to know how well it does painting upside down.

I used Chassis Saver on the underside of my truck and fuel tank. Stuff dries very hard. If you try to drill it, ur bit will walk across it. Comes in gloss black, flat black, and silver which has aluminium in it.

Never tried POR-15, so i don't know the charcteristics of it.

"At this time, the U.S. military is evaluating Chassis Saver on ground vehicles in Okinawa Japan. Military officials claim this is one of the worst environments for corrosion. The Ohio DOT claims that Chassis Saver has reduced by 50% the amount of refinishing they need to do on their fleet of snow and ice removal equipment subject to salt and liquid calcium chloride."

I just painted my cage and some other shit in my car with it. It's runny, apply two thin coats. It worked OK upside down but it's runny. I used the sponge brush and roller. I used a plastic tub for a roller pan, after it dried I was surprized at how flexable the coating was. I bent and twisted the container and it never hinted at cracking.

Did I say it was runny? LOL

I have heard the opisite as far as rust. If there is some pitted rust, it will adhere just fine, as long as you hit it good with a wire wheel and get anything loose off. The biggest thing is to make sure that the surface is free of any grease / oil / waxes.

We just did the underside of 3 comercial mower decks last winter, we will see how it held up this winter when we hit the decks with the power washer and pull the spindles for rebuild.

Using a good cleaner like purple power to clean the surface should get rid of most anything that will keep it from adhering. Also, we wiped with acetone just to be sure there where no residual oils.

Make sure you wear some gloves, once it dries acetone wont take it off your hands.
