Miller
There is a mint vette just up the road from me. The guy is always restoring classic cars and doing a great job. And I would take my neighbor Rick along to check out whatever car you look at - if he has the time to help a rhino lined subaru driver. Jelloman4571647545499
A friend and I just did an all over on a 75 and it was in decent shape before we started. We had 100hrs a piece in it probably. The cars arent very comfortable to me but the owner seems to love how they drive. He had to do all new brakes. He order from Bears Corvette parts I think it was in PA. The catalog said Yogi Bears on the cover and had a shit ton of stuff in it at a decent price. I have a line on a 70 454 4speed car I was looking into that I could flip and make very good money on. I just dislike the way these cars look for some reason. RS69
As a hobby, I buy and sell stringrays. Depending where the car is, I could go with you. Here is what you need to know. Where do they rust? Check the frame closely, especially on the rear kickups right before the rear tires and on the windshield frame. Bring a tape measure and measure the wheelbase on each side. What should they cost assuming non SHOW quality. its a project Stringrays have went up in prices, expect a 81 project one to be anywhere from $8 to 12K. Number matching engine and the VIN will be on the 12K side. What motor should be in it. For 81, there was only one engine option, the L-81 which was 190 horsepower. What other things are known to fail. Get the best looking complete car you can find, vette parts are not cheap. On a side note, Like Miller said, I know where a 73 454 vette(matching numbers with 76000 miles) is for sell and it is a deal at $19500 located near Galena. No, it is not one mine. RyM3rC
you have to put a loud exhaust on it to frown out the squeaks and rattles. Especially on an original car.
thorne
I think im passing on the Stingray. Allot more work then I can get into yet. But the TA is still up in the air, I'm waiting for them to call me back after they fix the stuter issue. It needs work for sure but could be a good project for her. it only has 100k on it
RS69
How much is the guy asking for the 81 vette? It might be possible he/she is asking much less than 8K. Remember cash talks, there are a few people out that dont keep on market pricing. If you are going to pass, please pm the details where the car is located and/or the phone number for it.
