street pilot Posted July 30, 2009 Report Share Posted July 30, 2009 My CHL expired 7/18/09. This will be my first renewal. I lost my original training certificate. According to ohioccw.org FAQ my current license should be good for proof of certification; "For first time renewals, a valid CHL not more than 30 days past its expiration date will serve as proof of training. " (http://www.ohioccw.org/frequently-asked-questions.html#renew) The AG handbook makes no mention of this (http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/le/prevention/pubs/2009_ccw_book.pdf) Franklin Co. Sheriff's office says a prior CHL is insufficient evidence of prior training once it has expired. Has anyone used their prior CHL to renew without a training certificate? twistedfocus1647545489 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Share Posted July 30, 2009 I still have my certificate but when I went to renew they didn't even ask for it. they just checked the date on my Existing CHL to make sure it was within 30 days of expiration and that was it. He's not an actual related brother, but he lived with my family most of his life. So I consider him my brother. He's very short, like 5' or less short.
