wagner
This event REALLY impressed me and that is saying a lot. I have been raised around drag racing and it is my first true passion so to make me this giddy is amazing. The quality of the cars and the completion was second to none. When it comes to the fans the racers were very accommodating and answered any and all questions. I have never been to a pro event where I can stand less then 2 feet away from a teardown and rebuild. The ADRL really goes above and beyond when it comes to the fans and racers. They have it right when it comes to how to treat both. This is very apparent considering they have some very good former NHRA and IHRA racers. I highly recommend if you are into drag racing and are willing to travel to go to their events. In the future the ADRL is going to be a force to be reckoned with and is going to really raise the profile of drag racing in a positive way. DSM1290
The main reason I thought it was crap was becuase they only raced to the 1/8th mile. Dumb.
SHIEF
The main reason I thought it was crap was becuase they only raced to the 1/8th mile. Dumb. Which was a good thing, because they were racing at Trails. I don't like seeing people crash, maybe you do. This was one of the best events I've been to in awhile. "I wasn't even mad, I was actually impressed." Hope it comes back next year.
KennyFKINPowerz
The main reason I thought it was crap was becuase they only raced to the 1/8th mile. Dumb. 1/4 mile racing is a lot of fun to watch but wathcing a 10.5 car run 3.99 in the 1/8th is plenty of excitement. Not to mention that the 2nd half of that 1/8 just eats parts when your trying to run that fast. We raced Top Sportsman with a lot of the guys that are running the ADRL now and I can tell you first hand that almost all of them prefer the 1/8th mile racing. wagner
I have been to a lot of races at a lot of tracks but standing at the starting line for the finals at this event had a different feel. It was like a prize fight meets street car race meets full blown national event. If you claim to be a drag racing fan and missed this event you really did miss out. The thing that really sicks out is that after each run the crews all shook hands and were all smiles. Even if they did not win you could see the total enjoyment of this even. The fact they are running 1/8th mile seemed lame at first but after talking with the teams they all can actually afford to run this series because it is 1/8th. There was no laying up either when they lined up at the line it was run what you brung and hope you brung enough
