Drewhop
My boss has a 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe with a Flathead 6 cylinder and 3speed tranny. Question is the cooling system pressurized? And at what PSI would it be pressurized if it is?

Guest Removed
6-8 psi on the older systems. anything higher i would be thinking head gasket issue. i had to recore a radiator at dads shop waayyyy back in the day, on something like this, it blew the tubes apart in the core, and pushed the end tank out. they was having a head gasket issue, and decided to put a later cap on that held 16-18 psi. then when it was still pushing air out of the over flow tube, they capped it off. didnt take long for it to push the radiator apart. Dave1647545494
not a headgasket... there is a steel coolant tube that runs the length of the block pressed in behind the waterpump and its either rusted out or plugged up pull the tube out with a hook tool you'll probably have to fight it some as its been in there for about 60 years either clean it up if it looks decent or you can get a new one from engine rebuilders supply hth
