BlackMess
Went a test drive a 2000 cherokee sport, 165k miles. When it initially started up engine was very smooth but within 5 minutes I started to hear a whistle sound that went away DURING acceleration. Not the serpentine belt. Waterpump was just replaced. Dont think it is a differential problem because it did it at idle. I shut the jeep off and restarted it 5 minutes later and the whistle was gone? I know its hard to diagnosis a sound without hearing it but just curious if this is a frequent problem with jeeps. Almost sounded like a nasty vacuum leak but vehicle ran fine. Any ideas?
