Reports from the US are claiming the car is called the R8 e-Tron and it will be based on the Audi R8 supercar. This backs up the previous teaser images we have seen of the car, which has shown what appears to be an electric Audi R8. Changes over the standard R8 include a new front grille and front end, while new LED headlights also feature. New wheels and a new rear end also appear on the concept. The concept is likely to be pitched as a rival to the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept and the Mercedes SLS AMG eDrive, both of which will appear at Frankfurt. Interior shots leaked show a driver-biased centre console with two screens; one for the rear view camera and one showing a navigation map. Audi has fuelled speculation it will launch a new electric car at Frankfurt with the launch of ww.electricityuntamed.com, a new website counting down to the show tomorrow morning. It features the line “What happened to electricity?”. Full details of the concept are expected to be revealed by Audi tomorrow.[/Quote] http://cdn.images.autocar.co.uk/612x408FFFFFF/Car/Audi/Concepts/Audi-Concepts-119991153493091600x1060.jpg http://cdn.images.autocar.co.uk/612x408FFFFFF/Car/Audi/Concepts/Audi-Concepts-11999115347901600x1060.jpg

Nitrousbird
Let's see, if a Lotus Elise is ~47k, and a Tesla is ~109k. that should mean a 123k R8 = 285k electric R8. What a steal!

Main3s
It's ugly as fuck, are you serious!? I mean I know it's a concept car but wow, those wheels and the front end :barf: the interior is cool. Not quite sure how I feel about the side view mirrors/ cameras. But as a whole the car is ugly IMO.
Rotarded1647545491
But as a whole the car is ugly IMO. I have often said the same of the GTP.

RyM3rC
hmm... I think Audi should refocus on pwning everyone at Le Mans again. Does the solar panel field come with the car for recharging purposes?
CRed05
hmm... I think Audi should refocus on pwning everyone at Le Mans again. Does the solar panel field come with the car for recharging purposes? Not very Audi like. Hopefully tomorrow when they unveil it they will be like "Just kidding bitches, its diesel, cause electricity is for homos"
RyM3rC
its diesel, cause electricity is for homos" Hell yeah. I'm still waiting for them to bring back the diesel R8 they almost came out with. They need to get a decent tranny that can handle the 600 ft-lbs of torque or whatever and stick their TDi V10 into some cars already. CRed05
Well I guess it will have 313hp and wait for it.... 3,319 lb-ft of torque "a high-performance sports car with a purely electric drive system. Four motors - two each at the front and rear axles – drive the wheels , making the concept car a true quattro. Producing 230 kW (313 hp) and 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 lb-ft) of torque, the two-seater accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 - 62.14 mph) in 4.8 seconds, and from 60 to 120 km/h (37.28 - 74.56 mph) in 4.1 seconds. The lithium-ion battery provides a truly usable energy content of 42.4 kilowatt hours to enable a range of approximately 248 kilometers, or 154 miles." NOPR
Well I guess it will have 313hp and wait for it.... 3,319 lb-ft of torque It's an impressive number, but it means absolutely nothing since it doesn't have a transmission. Nearly any car makes that much torque at the wheels in first gear.
