John Bruh
find a mid 90's or so turbo diesel...they can be had for pretty cheap not in a chevy. they are fucking junk. turbo issues motor issues bad idea. Now a 12v or 24v cummins no problem! just buy a 5/6 speed which is impossible. or a ford only with the turbo intercooled 7.3l. Just go with the chevy 1/2 5.3l. Great trucks, great motor, low maintence and cheap to repair!

LJ
I'm not a fan of towing cars with a 1/2 ton. Of course I grew up with my parents towing a 40 ft gooseneck every weekend, so my towing experiences may be a bit skewed.
John Bruh
towing isnt the ability of the truck to pull somthing its the ability to pull and to Stop what your pulling.
LJ
towing isnt the ability of the truck to pull somthing its the ability to pull and to Stop what your pulling. I know this... That is why on a 40 ft gooseneck the trailer brakes are set slightly higher than the truck brakes on the controller. Up until I was 19 my parents towed a 40 ft gooseneck 8 horse with a Chevy 3500 Dually with a 454. That's what I learned to pull with. I just don't feel like the rear end of a stock 1/2 ton is beefy enough to tow a car.
zeitgeist57
Regardless of what you get, I recommend "Load E" tires. They ride roughly, but wear forever and really hold the road when the vehicle is loaded.
