zeitgeist57
Do...want?!?? For some reason, I am digging this Turbo Sprint. A/C, clean, turbo 5-speed? Anyone know much on these cars? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-RARE-SUZUKI-SWIFT-GEO-METRO-FACTORY-TURBO-EXTREMELY-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3ca70f2527QQitemZ260500825383QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks ***posting here because of the plethora of pics***
nurkvinny
I actually swapped turbos (factory) and a transmission on one of those back in the day. I was pushing up on the trans so hard - by hand - and it weighed so little, that I threw the trans into the floorboard. BTW, it was stupid slow. zeitgeist57
He was an OG member, had a mega-boosted 1.6 liter in it. (oh and sorry I didn't bring my truck in Sunday, I'll call you soon though.) What was Jono's car? Isuzu something?
Mr. Jones
Yes, that was Jono. He had a couple Impulses which were Turbo AWD. (Stoned goats). Impulse RS AWD.... His Idol had a 10 sec impulse which he later bought sans engine IIRC. I'm not sure if he ever unloaded it or still has it.
Fubar231
Looks like a good candidate for one of JP's 4g63 swaps.
unfunnyryan
I'm a little puzzled at the possible difficulties in turbocharging a motor with no overlap in the power stroke. Wouldn't all intake valves be closed at one point (because they can only be open for 1/4th a cycle in a 4 stroke engine), forcing pressurized air out a wastegate or through some recirculation? zeitgeist57
Damn...that's a good question. Without googling the answer, I think it's all about phasing valve duration. Since you have 360 degrees of rotation, a cylinder needs to fire once every 120degrees? Valve duration is longer, but maybe the lift is lower since cylinder volume is less? I'm looking this up... EDIT: found something...tho I didn't read the entire thread... http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/technical-forums/4739-3-cylinder-engines.html

Rustlestiltskin
Looks like a good candidate for one of JP's 4g63 swaps. I doubt he wants to go down the "powerful motor in a shitbox" road again. he's been there done that
