TimTaylor751647545500
Looking for a local business that deals in public welding supplies. Picked up a Lincoln SP-170T a couple weeks back and I need to get a new gun and I'd rather buy locally than over the net. Any suggestions? TimTaylor751647545500
Here's the one I got. Picked it up in Solon off CL. Was listed for $600, got it for $350. The welder and cart. This cart is fairly flimsy, so I'm not sure if I'll stick with it or not. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/TAYLORED/DSC02428.jpg Here is the issue with the tip, seems like there was some denting around the curve. Not sure whether it is affecting performance or not and whether I'll need a new gun or not. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/TAYLORED/DSC02429.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/TAYLORED/DSC02430.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/TAYLORED/DSC02431.jpg
Cordell
Don't know how much experience you have so i'm just going to state the obvious, The gun is missing the tip and collar, but if it still pushes the wire through without issue it should be fine. TimTaylor751647545500
Quite a bit. Worked on the final weld line in the motorcycle plant for Honda for a year. Welded about 150 frames a day. The missing tip and nozzle really aren't the issue, my concern is the damage/crushed area (pic #2).

The missing tip and nozzle really aren't the issue, my concern is the damage/crushed area (pic #2). Like I said I don't see if it still pushes the wire smooth that it would be a problem. Unfortunatly most of the welders I've used were pretty beat up, but all welded fine. I think that welder you just bought is the same or similar model I used to weld on my sub frame connectors and it was a good working tool. Guest Removed
i would replace the liner just to be safe, the out side covering damage isnt that big of a issue. is it just the outer covering that is smushed ? looks like it was layed down on something hot Edited November 6, 2009 by Removed
