Trouble Maker Posted December 16, 2009 Report Share Posted December 16, 2009 There is average and there is instant. Atleast on VW/Audi's its pretty accurate, by .1 people have claimed. If I let off the gas at 120mph at Trails I get 120mpg I found out on instant. From the day I owned mine until the day I didn't mine was always off 1 or 2 mpg. I think that was pretty typical of the B5 s4's and a lot of cars of that era with mpg counters. Seems most new cars are usually more accurate, but something like that should be checked with the actual situation a few times before it's believed.
