So I got a new lap top for xmas, its got windows 7 all the trimmings and what not, but im confused about something, I havent had a NEW computer in a few years, and last time I got one, it came a bunch of backup disks and what not. This one did not. In fact it came with NO disks, cd's, or dvd's of any type. It had a flyer that said to install the battery, plug it in, and push the power button. then follow the directions to set it up and all that. So what happens if I ever have to reload the operating system? I have no software to do it with... Oh, and I also have no specs on the computer, i don't know the processor speed, the hard drive size, nothing. haha and of course it did'nt have a spec sheet with it either... Is this how all electronics are coming now?

Let me guess, is it an HP?

Yeah, it probably has a restore partition. What sucks is that that partition will also restore the adware and crapware your PC came with, so there's no way you'll get a clean installation.

That's one thing I like about Dell, they still provide you with the Windows disk.
