Guest Removed
does it have the obd2 plug? if not i dont if it dont, there should be a big round plug under the hood...you have to pull the codes with a tool that plug into that. Buckeye1647545503
Thank you anson that seemed to work. If I read it correct it has a code 1213. Now off to google to find what that means that or to library to see alldata
Guest Removed
Code 1213 Oxygen sensor #2 lean/rich control stop [1] thats what comes up with tesing it without bmw tester. with the tester the codes go no higher then 200 #'s
Buckeye1647545503
I fired it up tonight and it ran great for like 1 minute then started to miss again. It may very well need a o2 but it domestics #2 means after cat, and that should not make it miss like a dead cyclinder. I am gonna double check the code. Guest Removed
remember bmw has 2 collectors..i may very well have 2 front 02's..and since its not obd2, i dont think it will have rear o2s....i wouldnt hurt to look at it and count the 02's on it..lol look at the wiring diagram there is only 1 o2, for each bank http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/gearhead559/bmwo2s.gif so it bank 2..and yes they are like dodges, the heater can short out in them and fuck with closed loop... Buckeye1647545503
Ya I am going to look in to them but a quick read mentions air leaks and intake gaskets. I had already noticed yesterday a slight air intake sound from rear of drivers intake. I did not have anything to spray at it but I most deff want to check that further since it mentioned it
Jeff1647545535
smoke machine works wonders for stuff like that.
boostedgtp
The air intake boot gets dry rotted and splits in between the grooves on it. You can take a mirror and look on the back side of it where it connects to the throttle body, also look on the small leg of the boot that goes to the IAC.
