SicilianDude357
Saw this in The Firing Line forums and thought it was some good info....Especially since so many of us on here own firearms...Take a look... This may put an end to the 9mm vs. .45ACP debateIt comends a newer round... the 10mmhttp://www.firearmstactical.com/pdf/fbi_10mm_notes.pdf Edited February 19, 2009 by SicilianDude357

SicilianDude357
Just to add a little factFrom Firing Line:According to The Complete Encyclopedia of Pistols and Revolvers by Hartink (pp. 41, 45) following are the results:-9x19mm with 124 grains bullet produces velocity of 340 m/s and energy of 462 joules-45A.C.P with 230 grains bullet produces velocity of 260 m/s and energy of 504 joules-10mm Automatic with 175 grains bullet produces velocity of 370 m/s yet the energy of 775 joules10mm also has higher capacity than the .45.....makes you think doesn't it? fueljunkie1
Yeah but the wallet has to have mighty capacity to feed that 10mm. And it's not like you (average gun owner) can afford to practice with the 10, so it's not a great idea to have it just for firefights because you're not going to be familiar with it. flounder
The 10mm has been around forever.. good luck finding rounds for it at a local store though. Also, I dont care if you have a bazooka, if you cant hit shit because of the recoil it doesnt do you a damn bit of good. If you want some interesting reads about penetration.
