I see there are links stating the ROM has been ported for the G1, and I do see some performance draw-backs from it (at least what I've read), but it may be something to check out. He's been doing stuff for the G1 for a long time and has now moved on to the Nexus. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593102 This one is Kinglicks Hero 2.1, he is also a very well known person in the G1/Nexus world. Just search around that forum and you will find tons of Roms for the G1. Try the ones out that sound good and see which one you like best.
