I have a hole in a piece of vinyl siding from my gate slamming into it over the winter that is going to require the siding be replaced. I believe that I have extra siding in the basement, but I think that there are special tools involved to get the siding apart/back together. Clifford Automotive Posted March 8, 2010 Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 You can do it yourself. Just pull up from the bottom and work the piece out. It will be nailed in but you can break it around the nails. When Ive had to replace siding I take two pieces from the house and swap them.
