Busty Rucket 4 Eye

Since I have posted the rust on the car and found a fix I am going to post the build progress on the 86. I am using this car as a driver and trying to do it on a budget but I wont stick to the budget by the end probably. For some reason in the short time I have owned the car it has grown on me, I think its the T tops honestly. I would have posted more pictures before I tore it down but my camera took a shit and using my girlfriends DSLR was just scary if I broke it. So I picked up a nice Canon ( Thanks Damreds) and will document this build as best I can.

Interior stripped down to replace the window motors, door actuators, stereo, add new carpet. Adding an SSP console as well.

Engine bay ready for some new frame rails:

Tank yanked out for sumped unit, factory fuel lines are gone:

New exhaust setup :) 1 3/4 headers with 3in collectors and 3in H pipe. Little big for a stock 302 but it wont survive for long.

The 302 got torn down for a new pan ( that needed modified on the pickup) and head studs and MLS headgaskets. Also adding a new oil pump and ARP hardware.

Transmission needs cleaned and a new bushing and clutch added:

Rob had done a pretty good wire tuck but some of the wires need cleaned up, something he never got to do:

Car had OEM 03/04 Cobra wheels on it and the 9in wide wheels are too much for a stock lower A arm so I had them narrowed by Wheel Medic and they did a GREAT job.

Motor slowly getting put together, finding random bolts and such since ARP sucks my taint has been interesting and frustrating.

More pictars! Bolted down the drivers side head and found a broken valve cover bolt along with a broken extractor on the backside ( covered is silicone) I cant get it out so it will be EDM'ed out and then heli coiled. Also ARp shorted me 10 nuts for the headstuds so I am waiting on those. The stantions are redone and look good, carpet just arrived so the interior ca go back together.

motor so far

Since most of my time has been soaked up with house porjects I have made time during the week to work on the car. Made up all my oil lines and fuel lines, started the blower install ( would be finished if Fastenal could actually get something right) and installed the new carpet. The mass back carpet from LRS is really nice but god damn is it hard to get to fit right, that and the mass backing makes cutting it a PITA. Also ripped out the factory "amp" setup that Ford had and removed the hacked wiring begind the radio.

Put my Corbeaus in and they sit HELLA high, looks like someone may have used factory rails so I am in the search to find out what Corbeaus rails look like.

Well at this point the car is just waiting for other parts to return. The headers are off getting ceramic coated, the drivers side cylinder head is getting a busted valve cover bolt removed by an EDM process, and my torque wrenches are getting re calibrated after someone "accidently" knocked them on the floor.... how they knocked both over Ill never now. So I have gotton as far as I am going to get until these parts arrive.

Valve cover is one, small interference with the powerpipe 90 degree hose bend but not bad.

Sumped tank and pump mounted. Lines run and riveted to the body.
