Mace1647545504
my son has the above engine, and it wont start. I think its a fuel pump as it will turn over but won't fire. His bud told him its a timing belt. Which would produce the same problem. BUT he told him he has screwed up his engine as it is a close interference engine. I know honda makes that style engine but is this engine the same? What would have to be pulled to see the tb?? How can I verify?? thanks Mace
Patterson
Did it quit running on him, or come out and it wouldn't start? I would check to make sure its getting spark and fuel first. If it was a TB he likely would have heard some very bad things going on in the motor.
Dave1647545494
yes 3.0 chrysler is a mitsu based v6 interference style engine check for fuel and spark first then check the the timing belt and the compression it probably needs a cap and rotor they get moisture inside and won't start
Guest Removed
if the belt broke, it would free spin when cranking.(like its not making compression) yes, if it did break, then it will bent some valves. but check for fuel and spark first...i have done a ton of fuel pumps in those things over the years
