SausageKing
I was givin a gear drive set for my 92 block 5.0L (cam gear, dual idler, crank gear) The part # on the gears are 78420-01 and 78420-02. I've tried looking to see what manufacturer this is (no luck) and if this will work for my car and if I need anything else? hardware, bushings? Any info would be great! Dave1647545494
gear drive is a little bit more accurate than a chain but it noisy as fuck +1 for double roller chain instead
Farkas
Gear driven sounds cool, IMO.
Guest Removed
gear drive is a little bit more accurate than a chain but it noisy as fuck +1 for double roller chain instead let alone the metal on metal wear, and all that shit ends up in the pan. and if they are the plastic ones...file 13 them even faster accurate...hell, just degree the cam in. Nickey4271647545519
Thats going to be a dynagear gear drive and i'd say keep it, i love a gear drive over a chain so i'd go ahead and put it in and never look back.
SausageKing
i thought there might me some mixed thoughts:) Well I figured I'd put it in, I never had one installed before. If I don't like it ,I can take it out and get a double roller instead. I just wish i knew if i only need the gears or if I need other hardware like i see some other kits use. Guest Removed
then all i think you need is the idler set and the cam and crank...but look up the install instructions just to make sure
nurkvinny
If it's going in a show vehicle, you won't mind the whine so much. If you're going to be DD'ing it, you'll regret it. I'll admit the constant questions about what size blower I was running was fun.
