Bam Posted March 31, 2010 Report Share Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) I've found the first two used, so obviously saves some money, but the et streets I've heard are best. so should I go with... 275/40/17 nitto's with 3 passes -come already mounted on wheels - $300obo sold 255/50/16 M/T's new- $400 - could mount on my factory wheels ?? Try and score the nitto's for like $200, since it would be the easiest. Or try and score the BFG's and a cheap set of like salad shooters or something for like $50. boosted98gst Posted March 31, 2010 Report Share Posted March 31, 2010 I found more info on the new rubber. They are the nitto nt05 mustang magazine claims they are great drag radials. They say performace wise the triple 5's are just outdated and these new nittos not only are great as dry tires but they also do wet in rain. They also stated they are agressive but will not pick up every object from the road like race tires do. Hands down if you was looking at the 555's these new nt05's are what ur looking for. Reason I ask is because I got an email back and he said he'd take $100 for them, they are the right size for my wheels, so essentially there would be no other cost. This saves me $300 over the et streets, and I would think I would be able to get some decent times, maybe not 1.6 60 foots, but still under 2.0 and better than with street tires, right? That's one question I had, if I don't punch it off the line, but punch once I'm like 20ft out or something, won't it downshift, or will it stay in the lower gear if I get on it hard enough, just not WOT?
