iPod nano (5th generation) help

is there anyway to tell if the ipod is dead to find out how big the drive is???

I know these are either 8 or 16 gig but it is dead with no cord and looking the serial number up does not tell me... any ideals mac guys?

isn't it normally engraved on the back?

 

on the older ones yes it was like my first gen video ipod ( lol) but not on this one.. freind gave it to me because he lost the cord about a month ago and doesnt use it anymore. So i wa trying to find out the size just so I can get a idea on a price to sell it for

on the apple website, you should be able to look it up by serial number.

 

I tried that first only tells me its a fith gen and that it can either be a 8 or 16 lol..

 

I might just have to wait it seems until I can get it charged up and find out
